One of the best Swedish labels is Yellow Mica Recordings. It seems the label was originally intended to release music froim The Javelins but it grew from the first early recordings of that band to encompass twee and indie pop from around the world (The Haircuts, Capstan Shafts, Boyracer etc). The label is still going strong but the band that founded it is no more. Don’t cry though, they’ve just changed their name to The Faintest Ideas and been signed to the U.S. label Magic Marker.
The Faintest Ideas will release their next record What Goes Up Must Calm Down some time soon on Magic Marker. I’ll be waiting. Here’s one caffeine-laced, speed-twee-pop-hit called “Nosebleed” from the upcoming record.
Here’s two new songs from The Haircuts new Yellow Mica Recordings’ disc Sorrow Is The Way To Love. Buy it here.
