The Plan has just released their new record Walk For Gold, on Razzia Records (Hello Saferide, Firefox AK). The Plan is Theodor Jensen and that’s about all I know for sure. There’s a fairly extensive bio in Swedish here. On the whole the albums’ production is top notch and the songs range from blue eyed soul to brit pop rave-ups. It’s one of these records where picking just one track is difficult and choosing one of the 10 songs to highlight is nearly impossible.

Nonetheless here’s “Bus” a great song and while not the first single from the record (that honor goes to the title track) this is a song that will no doubt be released in the near future in Sweden as a single.

Hello Saferide’s been busy and that means she’ll be keeping this blog busy over the next few weeks trying to cover all her guest appearences, holiday songs and cover projects. First off, her debut record, Introducing…Hello Saferide, will be released in the states on vinyl by It’s A Trap. We’ll have a contest in a week or so to win a copy. Also Annika has joined forces with Vapnet on their new single for Hybris. Annika has also contributed a track to Razzia’s Christmas record. And finally she has also contributed a Gene Clark cover for the Groover Recordings cd Gene and Cover. I hope to have all these songs for you and links to buy these disperate projects in the coming weeks.

But here’s a good place to start for now. Vapnet’s new single “Farjamensleden” is the first time I’ve heard Annika sing in Swedish, it’s a little unsettling and a nice departure.
