My impression of the ungainly Swedish ska collective Moder Jords Massiva has been blown out of the water by this new song from their upcoming album, Ren Ondska, due out in April on Flora and Fauna. Since the heart and soul of a band is the vocals in this case the heart and the soul has been taken up by guest singers Pelle and Annamarie. The deep beats are still present but these vocalists give Moder fresh life and this song, while sung in Swedish, has the universal appeal of the trip-hop of Portishead, Massive Attack or Tricky.
