More Swedish electronica from Boeoes Kaelstigen (Adrian Recordings)

Boeoes_Kaelstigen
Since my last skwee orgy post I haven’t featured much minimal electronica. You know the kind with deep bass, blips and blurps and a bed of synth effects. So I was happy to read about the upcoming release by Boeoes Kaelstigen on Adrian Recordings.

Tor and Leo make up this dup who met at a rhetorics class and quickly discovered their shared interest in electronic music. Their first single, “Fasit”, has received support and play by dj’s around the world, Swedish National Radio and by stations in Austrailia, the Uk, Estonia and South Africa. Here’ are two more tracks from 2007 that should appear on their Adrian Recordings debut sometime in the fall.

Epic Swedish Shoegaze from Norma (Novoton Records)

Wednesday, June 6th, 2007

For The Eardrums has already written up the new debut ep by Norma. He’s gone ahead and used all the good adjectives (like “hypnotic”, “panoramic”, “ambient”, “magnificent”, and “warmth”) leaving me with little else to say. “The Storm” is the first track off the ep and it builds like any big storm moving across the plains states. This is pretty EPIC stuff, the stuff of legends really. The single is over 8 minutes so these guys aren’t going for teenybopper radio. You lucky Europeans can buy this Novoton release here through Klicktrack.

Swedish Techno/House from Air Bureau (guest vocals by Sandy Mouche, remix of The Sounds)

Tuesday, June 5th, 2007

Should I be allowed to write about dance music (techno, house, disco) if I only go out and dance (and poorly at that) on New Years eve? Does that mean I can’t show you the errors of my ways and link to some fantastic Swedish house music as my musical mea culpa? I think not!

I can think of a dozen other mp3 blogs that this music should be featured on (oh alright maybe only two – Disco Belle and Big Stereo). But you’re stuck with me. So here’s some music from Air Bureau.

Sebastian Fors’ "I Ain’t No Loss"

Monday, June 4th, 2007

Sebastian Fors recently notified me of a new song, “I Ain’t No Loss,” up at his MySpace page. As a fan of his prior work I was eager to hear the song and the direction Sebastian is heading in. The new song is a roots-rock number complete with long Neil Young guitar solos, Dob Dylanesque harmonica breaks and of course Sebastian’s emotion laden vocals. The song is a real downer filled with images of drunkenness, solitary despair, loneliness and death. In a nutshell it’s wonderful.

Shoegaze & Disco, Oh My! (Stella Psychosis and Sexy NSFW video from Fibes, Oh Fibes)

Friday, June 1st, 2007

Shoegaze and disco in the same post that may be a blogging first. Stella Psychosis is from Jonkoping, Sweden. They’ve been playing some gigs (including Popadelic) and making a bit of noise for themselves. At the moment the band is unsigned and has two new songs up at their MySpace. Here’s one of them:

Yesterday’s Rules, Oh, Yesterday’s News

Not sure if you’ve all seen this but it’s the sexy new video from Fibes, Oh Fibes (oh yeah it’s not exactly sfw):
