The first single from Tvärvägen (riyl Beirut, Madlib, Fog) (plus news of EST and Theresa Andersson)

My Swedish Smiths week is over but my love of melancholy pop is not. That brings us to the new song from Tvärvägen. “September” is a sad song with intervals of noisy clattering instruments. Tvärvägen is being called a one man orchestra and if that is true this song and the coming album is even more impressive.

The new record, Sånger från Tvärvägen, is out in November on Knoppar Records. You can find the first single, “September”, below.

September

P.S. There’s been lots of Swedish music in the news of late. I can’t keep up with all of it but I did find these two articles interesting:

Esbjorn Svensson posthumous gift to music…

Theressa Andersson – Talented down to her toes…
