I’d hate Swedesplease to be typecast as a Swedish indie pop blog. I’m open to writing about just about anything. In fact I would feature much more jazz if the artists and labels were open to it. But jazz seems to be about the last genre to fully embrace mp3 blogs. Luckily Gothenburg based jazz singer Patrick Rydman took a chance and sent a couple songs from his debut record I Will Do It. Maybe he didn’t realize I’m a big fan of Kurt Elling, Patricia Barber and the Green Mill (Al Capone’s speakeasy – now jazz club extraordinaire) here in Chicago.
