I don’t know how I stumbled upon The Eyeshades from but I’m glad I did. The band is an odd combination of pop and rock with a little electronic sounds added to the mix. They play a wide assortment of instruments (jokingly referred to as: Drumomaphone, Bassomaphone, Guitaromaphone, Organomaphone, Analog Synthomaphone, Percussiomaphone, Xylomaphone, Fluteomaphone, Saxomaphone, Trumpetomaphone, Double Bassomophone and Vocalomaphone on their myspace page). It’s this diversity of sound as well as the (at times) unusual compositional structure that make the band interesting.
I’m unsure if they have any music you can purchase but the band did share with me the mp3 for their new song “In The Basement”.
