I wrote about Nom De Guerre back in 2007. I liked their flamboyant nature and their artistic videos and their sense of style. The band returns in 2010 with a new record on German label Tapete Records. The new CD is a concept record of sorts – a murder mystery I’m told – called Love Thy Neighbor.
The band’s version of power pop mixed with sixties sensibilities remains in tact. Add a little cabaret and maybe a bit of operatic kraut rock (the band’s lead singer now lives in Berlin) and you’ve got the band’s new sound. “Everybody Knows” is from the new record out now on Tapate.
