I have a feeling that per capita Sweden has the most one man band type musical auteurs creating electronic pop in their bedrooms than any other country on earth. Beauty Point is one such band. Clearly there is an eighties influence at work here but that’s not a bad thing. As a child of the 80′s I think that that music will stand the test of time better than anything from the 90′s or 00′s. What’s particularly impressive about Beauty Point is that while bands like The Cure, The Smiths, and Echo and the Bunnymen needed at least four members plus a producer plus the backing of a big label to make their sound, Beauty Point has pulled it off all by himself in his bedroom.
